Fawn Mckay

Fawn McKay was born 15 September 1915, in Ogden Utah. Fawn is a member of the Mormon Church's longest-running family, was able to combine her literary talents and exceptional research abilities into a brilliant biography on Joseph Smith. No Man was aware of My History appeared in 1945. The title comes from the funeral sermon given by Joseph Smith, creator of the Church of Latter-Day Saints. The preacher shocked the audience when he said declaring: "You don't even know my name. It's been a long time since you've seen the depths of my soul." Nobody knows my story. The truth is that I'm not sure. Fawn was a 29-year-old Fawn. From that point there have been at least three writers who have stood up to the challenge. There are some who have tried to make a clinical diagnosis. The documents aren't insufficient and contradictory. It is a difficult task to assemble these documents by separating the first-hand versions from the third-hand versions and then combining Mormon accounts with those of non-Mormon people into a coherent collection. This is exciting as well as instructive. FawnBrodie embraced this professional project with gusto and enthusiasm. The fruits of her research and writing made her immortalized with the world's attention: Thaddeus Stevens. The Devil's Drive (1959) The Southern Scourge. Thomas Jefferson. Richard Nixon and An Intimate Historical History (1974).
