She began her acting career in the year 1996 with The TV movie Her Costly Affair. After a very difficult struggle to get a part, she was offered a role as "Starship Troopers" her role in Starship Troopers. Amy struggled to make the shift to acting as models were not considered as good actors, and they usually got small parts. Amy had a determination to be successful and she eventually landed larger roles starting with The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. The 2005 romance comedy Just Friends, which also featured Ryan Reynolds, saw her perform larger parts. Amy attained the fame she had been searching for for more than 10 years after her film just Friends debuted. Amy continued to make important films, including the Crank series opposite Jason Statham and the series Shameless in which she portrayed an adored recurring character.
