
Kelly Clarkson, in full Kelly Brianne Clarkson, (born April 24, 1982, Fort Worth, Texas, U.S.), American performer, songwriter as well as a TV personality, who was able to establish herself as a pop rock star following being crowned the most popular TV talent show American Idol in 2002. Clarkson lived in Burleson, Texas, a suburb of Fort Worth, where her vocal prowess was first recognized by her choir instructor when she was just a seventh grader. After high school graduation, Clarkson relocated for a visit to Los Angeles to try to become a business world. She was picked to be a contestant on the Fox Broadcasting Corporation's American Idol singing competition, which allowed viewers the opportunity to cast their vote on their favourite artist. The viewers were in love with Clarkson's stunning voice, charisma, and sense of humour. Her prize was $1 million and included a recording contract with RCA.
